In this introductory course to physics, our focus is on some key concepts in electromagnetism. We start with an overview of light - the UN has declared 2015 as the International Year of the Light! We continue with elements of static electric and magnetic fields. We shall include aspects of electricity in neuro-physiology. Electric and magnetic fields combined create Poynting fluxes, carrying energy and (angular or linear) momentum. Dynamical electromagnetic fields thus conspire to make electromagnetic fields - that appears as light at high frequency. These results highlight some elements of the Maxwell's equations, that provides a unified description of the laws of Gauss, Faraday and Ampere. We conclude with some comments on the action principle, radiation processes and relativity.
